Being part of something bigger than yourself is essential as one of your six fundamental human needs. Choosing that community is important but once it is chosen whether by choice or circumstance then aligning yourself and embracing your community is essential.
Like any successful marriage, business partnership or relationship there is always a component of giving and taking. Conformity to a set of rules while still allowing yourself the freedom to be you. It’s about working towards a central goal, a goal that is bigger than any one part of the community while maintaining high standards for all not slipping to the lowest standards of the laziest member.
For those who are at a stage of their emotional intelligence or development where they are embracing the community in all it’s forms relationships, charity, work etc… then this is the perfect affirmation for you. You have all heard of tribes (if you haven’t google it) we might not be creating tribes worthy of a National Geographic article but your tribe whether it is female entrepreneurs, call of duty fanatics, book club friends or your family are key to your emotional wellbeing and happiness.
I hope you enjoy todays affirmation!
Affirmation
Whenever I have the opportunity, I align myself with things that interest and inspire me. Being a part of something means doing my part to contribute to its success. I am an active part of each community that I join.
My community is safe and comfortable. I do what is required of me to keep it that way. Conformance to standards of upkeep is easy for me. But conformance of low standards is not.
I know that it takes each person’s commitment to achieve and maintain a central goal. Although I have my own views on some matters, I am willing to comply with the majority vote. I do not hold back and feel confident to share my opinion without forcing it on others. It is respectful to honour the interests of each community member but it is also my standard to honour the greater good for the whole community, not just one member.
Charity is one of my favourite things to do. I love being a part of a community that helps others. Instead of just donating money to good causes, I get involved and create a movement. The group is a stronger force when each person commits a similar effort. I inspire those who want to make an effort to get involved, but I respect those who wish to spend their time differently to do that which follows their purpose.
Maintaining a mindset of giving instead of receiving inspires action. My work meetings are fruitful because I play an active role.
Sharing ideas stirs the thought process of team members. I am fine even if my idea is overlooked. It feels good to play a part in the process of getting to a favourable end.
Today, community life is unifying. Living in unity with others opens the door for powerful action and favourable outcomes. I enjoy playing an active role in each group that I am a part of. I make sure to be open to joining new groups, that serve my passion and purpose in life.
Self-Reflection Questions:
- How do I choose which communities to join?
- How regularly do I volunteer to assist with outreach programs?
- How do I know when it is time to assume a new role in a group?
In this day and age,
final thought
Sharing one's opinion is not the same as enforcing an opinion
If you haven’t used affirmations before there is no right way or wrong way to get started. Whether you print them out and read when you like or record them into your phone and listen to them up to 3 times a day, so long as you connect with the affirmation then you are on your way to mastering it. You can also choose an inanimate object that symbolises the concept for you and carry it with you in the day, or add something meaningful to your vision board. You can use this affirmation as part of your meditation. Some people just like to use them as talking points with their friends or inspire them to make wallpapers to share on social media. Whatever feels right, is what was intended for you now you have found your affirmation, so have fun with it.
