Beliefs are the foundation of how you see your world and therefore what the world you lives in becomes. If you want to see the bad in someone or some situation you can but you can also see the positive. Which is truer? Is one better than another, perhaps not? However one will have a better impact on how you feel and therefore is the better option. The catch is that it is easier to doubt and be sceptical. It is easier to criticise than it is to be forgiving, open and confident in yourself. So often we choose beliefs to protect ourselves from perceived harm, upset or loss. Conversely, those beliefs bring us what we focus on and if we are focusing on the negative then only more negative will be attracted to us. This week I challenge you to really look at your beliefs and remember you have the power to change those beliefs to whatever you want, so long as it serves your highest and best purpose. I work on this is a lot of detail in my coaching be it online with Get The Sauce or one to one with clients. If you keep affirmations to work on this definitely should be in your top 3. It is extremely powerful to master your beliefs.
I recognise the impact my beliefs have on how I feel and behave. Believing something about a situation determines how events progress. What I think and feel about another person affects how I relate to that person. My beliefs in myself determine how I perform.
However, I can choose what I believe. If I want to see a situation differently, I have the power to do so.
My beliefs are particularly important when I am relating to others. If I believe a person has certain qualities, then I assume I know how they think and act. But when I change my mind about someone, I see the person differently, often for the better. I am free to determine what I believe about someone.
My beliefs about myself determine my level of confidence. Whether I am beginning a new project, attending a social event, or experiencing changes in a personal relationship, how my life progresses is largely determined by what I believe. And I am blessed with the power to change how I see things.
Knowing I can change what I believe brings success into my life. Inside myself, I make a decision about what I think is true. But if I observe factors that do not coincide with my beliefs, I change how I view other people and situations based on this new information.
Today, I plan to embrace my power to change my beliefs. I can alter those beliefs that ultimately result in less than ideal situations, relationships, or behavior.
- Do I have the power to change my beliefs?
- What is a particular assumption that hinders me?
- How can I create more success by accepting my power to change my beliefs?
change your thoughts and you will change your life
If you haven’t used affirmations before there is no right way or wrong way to get started. Whether you print them out and read when you like or record them into your phone and listen to them up to 3 times a day, so long as you connect with the affirmation then you are on your way to mastering it. You can also choose an inanimate object that symbolises the concept for you and carry it with you in the day, or add something meaningful to your vision board. You can use this affirmation as part of your meditation. Some people just like to use them as talking points with their friends or inspire them to make wallpapers to share on social media. Whatever feels right, is what was intended for you now you have found your affirmation, so have fun with it.
